Mental health awareness training

Mental ill health is the number one wellbeing issue.
83% of employers include it within their wellbeing strategy.

Mental health awareness training is believed to have the greatest impact when it comes to wellbeing interventions (REBA 2019). According to Deloitte’s systematic review in 2017, the results are overwhelmingly positive with a conservatively estimated ROI of 9:1.

Creating a network of peer supports - mental health first aiders - is becoming increasingly recognised as a powerful way of tacking mental ill health in the workplace. It has been shown to be highly effective in detecting those who are experiencing poor wellbeing in the workplace, and then providing support and signposting to further professional services if required. In fact, authentic talking and empathetic listening between colleagues can be as effective as paid for therapy (Jacobson & Christensen 1994).

Suicide Prevention

Using highly skilled trainers, our accredited Suicide First Aid and Suicide Awareness courses create greater understanding and confidence for those who may need to intervene with anyone at risk of suicide.

Ripple&Co offer bespoke training courses, as well as Mental Health First Aid courses from MHFA England and the Level 3 Award from QualSafe.

We help you choose the best solution for your business.

Wellbeing workshops

A series of workshops or lunch 'n learns empower employees to raise awareness of how to improve their own mental wellbeing. Research has shown that sustained interventions over a period of time have a greater impact on employees’ learning and wellbeing. It can improve self-reported health, productivity and reduce absence (What Works Centre for Wellbeing 2018). Workshop topics include Tech Detox, Stress Management, Resilience Building, The Power of Nature, Nutrition (diet, alcohol, caffeine), The Benefits of Sleep, Meditation, Flexible Working.

An innovative method of dramatically increasing confidence in talking about mental ill health is Roleplaying the Conversation. Listening and talking to a colleague who may be experiencing poor mental wellbeing is one of the most important ways of offering support. But it’s not an easy conversation. Roleplaying creates a ‘real’ life scenario that allows delegates to most closely experience the reality of the situation but within a safe environment. This experiential approach brings subject matter to life. It provides a highly immersive platform for delegates to safely explore and try out skills, behaviours and elements of a conversation that have been discussed during the training session.

Coaching

Leaders are role models within a business. Authentic and trusted leaders with emotional intelligence gain buy in and commitment from employees. Coaching develops this self-awareness, as well as the mindset and skills needed for them to personally thrive. Only then are they in a position to support others to reach their potential.

Leadership and team development

Those who lead teams have the greatest opportunity to positively affect workplace cultures and the performance of their teams. But not all those promoted to leadership positions are natural leaders. Tailored, value-adding solutions support you and your leaders to learn the key qualities of effective leadership, so that they create a positive ripple effect of their own!

9:1

Return on investment in workplace mental health programmes is overwhelmingly positive, with a conservatively estimated 9:1.
